Therapy

Susie offers bespoke speech and language therapy for individuals requiring support and rehabilitation.

Susie adopts a holistic approach to therapy and is dedicated to treating individuals and families who experience speech, language or voice disorders as a result of brain injury, stroke, neurological conditions, post surgical trauma, voice difficulties, gender identity and functional disorders.  Susie is committed to working collaboratively with them and their families in order to achieve the best possible results.

Following a free initial discussion, Susie offers an assessment with recommendations and options for treatment. Therapy sessions typically last an hour and may involve tasks to practice between appointments. Inclusion of family members or significant others is welcomed and confidentiality will be respected. Building confidence in communication may include sessions taking place outside the clinic if the client wishes to practice in real settings.

Susie is able to help in the following areas:

SPEECH - Unclear speech, slurred speech or stammering.

LANGUAGE - Difficulties finding words, understanding speech and expressing oneself.

COGNITIVE COMMUNICATION DISORDERS - Communication difficulties associated with neurological conditions such as dementia, traumatic brain injury, neurological trauma and stroke.

READING - Reading or writing difficulties following stroke or brain trauma.

VOICE - Voice loss, hoarseness, quiet voice, transgender voice feminisation.  Advice and training for professional voice users including teachers, clergy, trainers, coaches and choirs.
